Item 7.01 Regulation FD Disclosure.
On August 31, 2005, Applied Materials, Inc. (Applied or the Company) announced that David N.K. Wang, Executive Vice President of Applied and President of Applied Materials Asia, is resigning from the Company effective September 2, 2005, to become Chief Executive Officer of Shanghai Hua Hong (Group) Co., Ltd. Applied appreciates Dr. Wang’s many contributions to the Company.
